About Me
I am a designer with a passion for making the world a better place. I believe that great design considers user needs and provides intuitive, efficient solutions. It can reduce frustration and improve customer satisfaction.
I’m not afraid to work hard at whatever the task is. And because technology is always changing, I love learning new things. I try to make the answer to whatever is asked of me "yes". If I don't know how right now, then I'm ready to find a way.
My Experience
Technical Support & Customer Service
Millenial Star Network & CultureGrams
My career began in customer service, where I specialized in resolving software and connectivity issues. This role provided invaluable exposure to user experience principles, as I regularly guided customers through complex problem-solving processes. These interactions taught me to identify pain points, understand diverse user perspectives, and develop empathetic communication strategies. The foundation in user advocacy and problem-solving that I built during this time has been instrumental in shaping my approach to both education and design.
French Teacher
Carden Memorial
I earned my first degree in French literature, driven by a passion for French culture and artistic expression. This academic foundation in literary analysis developed my abilities in critical thinking, cultural interpretation, and effective communication. Following graduation, I spent a year teaching French to elementary and middle school students in grades 2-8. This role required me to distill complex linguistic concepts into age-appropriate instruction, teaching me to adapt communication styles for different audiences and simplify sophisticated ideas without losing their essence. These skills in audience analysis, clear communication, and concept simplification are fundamental to my daily work as a UX designer
Back to School
Web Design & Development
After taking time for family commitments, I pursued formal education in Web Development and Design, earning my degree while discovering a genuine enthusiasm for translating code into effective design solutions. The hands-on experience with HTML and CSS revealed my aptitude for bridging technical functionality with user-centered aesthetics. My concurrent roles as tutor and teaching assistant allowed me to reinforce my own learning while helping classmates navigate website development challenges, fostering both my technical expertise and my skills in knowledge transfer and collaborative problem-solving
UX Design
Rite Aid
Upon completing my studies, I secured an internship with Rite Aid, where I immediately applied my technical skills by redesigning their online checkout experience, achieving measurable improvements in conversion rates. This successful project led to two years of contract work, during which I contributed to virtually every aspect of their digital platform, including account management, e-commerce functionality, and loyalty program features. In 2023, I transitioned to a full-time role and have spent the past two years specializing in the Rite Aid Rewards loyalty program.
Throughout my tenure, I developed expertise in wireframing and prototyping while conducting comprehensive user testing and research initiatives. My collaborative work with product managers and development teams resulted in significant information architecture improvements and more user-centered design solutions. Working alongside exceptionally talented designers has accelerated my professional growth and expanded my design perspective considerably
Fun Stuff
I was born and raised in northern Utah at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. I love living here with my family and our cats. In my free time, I enjoy doing family history, watching murder mysteries and gardening.
I am now looking forward to my next opportunity. As technology advances, there is still so much to learn and do. I think it’s exciting to think about what is around the corner. I invite you to explore my portfolio and contact me to discuss how my skills and experience can benefit your team.
